Every day there are seven questions, the same for everyone, like "Name a yellow fruit". Type one answer to each. Any real answer counts, but the fewer people who give the same answer, the more points you score. You can skip a question if you're stuck.

Each answer scores up to 100 points depending on how rarely it's given: answers almost everyone says score a few points, answers almost nobody says score close to 100. A perfect day is 700.

Your score turns into depth, 12 metres for every point, so each answer takes you further down through the zones. Answers we can't match to a known answer score 0 and hold you where you are.

The "said this" percentage comes from answer counts built into the game plus the games played on your device. It isn't a live count of other players.

If your answer looks like a typo of a known answer, Plungle asks before counting it. Tap Yes to score the suggested answer, or No, I meant … to keep what you typed (which scores 0 if it isn't a known answer). If an answer could mean several things, you'll be asked to be a bit more specific.

Finish all seven questions on consecutive days to build your streak. Miss a day and the streak starts again from your next finished day. Your best streak and number of dives are kept too.

A new set opens at midnight in your own time zone, wherever you are.

Endless mode gives you random questions for as long as you like, separate from the daily game. Your best Endless score is saved. It doesn't affect your streak.

Use the Daily dive reminder switch on the home screen or under your results. Reminders are off until you switch them on, and your device asks for permission at that point. The reminder comes at 6:30 pm local time and is skipped on days you've already played. If you stop opening the app, reminders stop after two weeks.

To turn them off, flip the same switch, or open Notifications in your device’s Settings (or System Settings on Mac) and select Plungle. If you said no to notifications earlier, allow them there and then switch the reminder on again.

After your seventh answer, tap Share (or Copy result). The result shows your depth, score and one coloured square per answer, without giving away the answers, plus a link to the game. In the app it also includes a picture of your result card. Nothing is shared unless you choose to send it.

Everything is stored only on your device. In the app, remove Plungle and its stored data from your device, then reinstall it to start fresh. On the website, clear the site data for plungle.vercel.app in your browser settings. Either way your streak, stats and progress are removed for good, and we can't restore them, because we never had a copy.

Yes. The app needs no connection at all. The website works offline after your first visit.

No. There's no sign-in, and Plungle never asks for your name, email or anything else about you. It counts visits and game events with analytics; see the privacy policy.
